Obamas attend Parent-Teacher Conferences
Mr. and Mrs. Obama attend daughters’ Parent-Teacher Conference.
I have been attending high-school volleyball games lately and have noticed that there is a terrible scourge of parents that just do not show up for their own children’s events. I even witnessed a student get significantly injured during a game that needed medical attention and yet her parents were not in attendance.
Even more important than a student’s school athletics is certainly their education. Despite all the probably excusable reasons for the Obama’s not to attend their children’s Parent-Teacher Conferences they did their parental duty to involve themselves in their children’s education, meet and interact with the teachers that are shaping their children’s lives, as well as show an important president to their kids that no matter how important their mommy or daddy’s job is, they are the most important thing in the family’s life and deserving of the time and attention that both parents must give.
This country needs President Barack Obama, but not at the expense of the Obama family. Surely, the nation can make room for a father to be a father and a family to be a family.
An example was set today. In a world where families so often fall second place to workplace stresses… an example was set today from the highest of offices.

Another great post. Keep up the great work! I guess with this story, it really is hard to find a real excuse not to make it to parent teacher conferences.
